171 on High Motel was opened in November 2003 by grape growers Kerry & Keven Tilly. They set the high standards that continue to be upheld today. After a few years as hosts of 171 on High Motel, they decided to pass on the reigns to another worthy couple so that they could pursue their passions as grape growers.

So, in September 2006, Christine (aka Chris) & Ian Johnston took over as owners and hosts at 171 on High Motel. This couple sought to enhance the exterior landscaping and to improve the efficiency of the motel. They had the website re-vamped and added an online booking system. They also commissioned a professional photo shoot to be done to better showcase the motel in their online and offline advertising. The stunning exterior photo you see as the background of this website was one of the results of that photo shoot. By 2015, Chris & Ian were ready to move on to their next adventure.

Along came Donna & Paul who had been looking for just what 171 on High Motel has to offer as a family business. They took over in July 2015.

Though both new to motelling, Donna & Paul's natural abilities as hosts shine through. This is evident by the continued influx of glowing reviews that have been left about them on various online travel and hospitality websites.

As their one-year anniversary as owners drew closer, they felt it was time to give the motel's website a facelift to match the quality of service that is synonymous with 171 on High Motel.
